FAQ
Do I have to pick my project ahead of time? Yes. Project selection and customization information for your project is required at the time of booking on our on-line registration form. Please be sure to double-check your spelling and information to ensure your project stencil (for wood workshops) and materials will be ready for you at the start of your workshop.
Do you offer refunds? Due to the custom nature of our workshops, registration fees are non-refundable.
Do I need to tell you in advance what colors and stain I want to use on a wood project? No, we have a wide variety of paint colors and stains to choose from. When you arrive we will show you examples of different color palettes to help you decide which paints and stains will look the best in your home.
How long does a workshop last? The length of each workshop depends on the type of workshop scheduled. The typical workshop lasts 2-3 hours.
Do I need to be crafty or artistically talented to take a workshop? Definitely NOT! Our workshops provide guided instruction in a relaxed environment. Just bring your DIY attitude and a willingness to learn and you will create a project you will be proud of!
Can I bring my own snacks or food? Yes! Please feel free to bring your own snacks to any of our workshops (excluding resin workshops please).
Can I bring my own beer or wine? Unfortunately BYOB is not permitted in Wisconsin.
How do I make sure I am seated with my friends? If you are coming with a group of friends, please list who you would like to be seated next to in the "comments section" of the online reservation form.
Can I switch dates once I book? No—workshop bookings are non-transferable to different dates. Because each project is prepared specifically for your reserved time (including materials, staffing, and seating), we're unable to accommodate date changes once your registration is complete. However, select workshops may allow a one-time date change for a $20 seat change fee. This option must be approved in advance and is based on availability. If you're unable to attend, you're welcome to transfer your seat to a friend or pick up your project as a take-home kit (when applicable).
What is your cancellation policy?
By registering for a workshop you agree to the following policies:
All workshop registrations are considered final once booked. Due to the custom nature of our projects, materials are prepared specifically for each guest in advance.
We do not offer refunds for workshops, events, private parties, specialty workshops, resin workshops, or off-site events.
If you are unable to attend your scheduled workshop, you must notify us by email (hammerandstainstateline@gmail.com) at least 48 hours prior to the event start time to receive a store credit.
- Store credits are valid for 60 days
- Credits may only be used toward future workshops
- Credits are non-refundable and non-transferable
Cancellations made with less than 48 hours notice, same-day cancellations, or no-shows will forfeit payment and are not eligible for store credit.
Workshops will incur a $20 seat change fee per reservation if a transfer or date change is approved.
If you cannot attend your workshop, we may allow your project to be:
- Picked up as a take-home kit (when applicable), or
- Completed during a scheduled Open Paint/Studio time (when applicable)
Projects must be picked up or completed within 60 days of the original workshop date. Resin, speciality, and glass blowing cannot be made into take home kits and cannot be done during open paint times.
Guests who do not attend their scheduled workshop without notice will forfeit their registration payment and project materials.
Hammer & Stain Stateline reserves the right to update or modify these policies at any time without prior notice.
